Leader Console
Overview
The Leader Console provides trip leaders with admin-like management capabilities directly from the Participant Dashboard (donor login). Leaders can manage participants, tasks, budgets, and more — without needing full administrator access to your HelpYouSponsor account.
This is ideal for on-the-ground trip coordinators, team captains, or volunteer leaders who need to manage their trip independently.
Accessing the Leader Console
Log in as a donor/participant using your donor credentials (magic link or password).
Navigate to your trip in the Trips section of your dashboard.
If you have the Leader role, you will see a Leader Console section on your trip detail page. Non-leaders do not see this section.
What Leaders Can Do
The Leader Console mirrors the admin trip management experience, with all actions scoped to the specific trip. Available capabilities include:

Withdraw/remove participants from the trip
Re-send trip invitation emails
Task Management
Create, edit, and delete tasks
Configure task targeting (role-based, minor/guardian, tag-based)
Set up task reminders and dependencies
View task completion status for all participants
Send manual reminder nudges to participants with incomplete tasks
Task Completions
View all task submissions across participants
Approve or reject submissions that require admin approval
Add notes when approving or rejecting
Budget Management
Add, edit, and delete budget line items
Reorder budget items via drag-and-drop
Milestone Management
Create, edit, and delete fundraising milestones
Monitor progress toward milestone targets
Task Templates
View available task templates
Create new templates from current tasks
Apply templates to the trip
Trip Settings
View trip details and public URL
Edit trip fields (name, dates, goal, etc.) if permitted
Sending Manual Reminders
Leaders can send targeted reminders to participants for specific tasks:
Navigate to the task in the Leader Console.
Click Send Reminder.
By default, reminders are sent only to participants who have not yet completed the task.
Confirm and send.
Each reminder action is logged to prevent accidental spam and enable support if questions arise.
Permission-Based Access
Not all leader capabilities are enabled by default. Your organization's administrator controls what each leader can do through Leader Permissions (see Leader Permissions).
If a capability is disabled for you:
The corresponding section or button will appear grayed out or hidden.
Attempting the action will show a "Permission denied" message.
