# How to close my account?

Use this guide when you need to decommission your organization's account. Closing your account stops billing, cancels active subscriptions, and archives your data. Only a Gratona super admin can restore a closed account.

> **Before you begin:** You need the **access\_delete\_account** permission to see the Danger Zone tab in Settings. If you do not see the options described here, ask an administrator to review your permissions.

## Close your account

1. Open **Settings** from the account menu in the top-right corner.
2. Select the **Danger Zone** tab.
3. Review the warning message. Deleting your account stops billing and triggers the archival workflow. It cannot be undone without a dedicated restore flow.
4. Enter a reason for deletion (optional).
5. Select **Delete account**.

6. In the confirmation dialog, type **DELETE**.
7. Select **Delete account** to confirm.

8. Gratona starts the decommission process and signs you out automatically.

## What happens when you close your account

* **Billing stops:** Active subscriptions are cancelled immediately. You will not be charged again.
* **Data is archived:** Your donors, recipients, donations, sponsorships, programs, and other records are queued for archival. A background job processes the archival.
* **Access is revoked:** All users connected to your account are signed out and their access is deactivated. No one can log back in.
* **Restoration by support only:** A closed account cannot be reopened from the application. Contact Gratona support if you need to restore the account.

## Permissions

Your role controls whether you can see and use the **Danger Zone** tab. If the tab does not appear in Settings, your permission group may not have the **access\_delete\_account** permission. Ask an administrator to review your group permissions.
