Edit Entity

Description on how to edit a recipient

When you want to edit records of an entity, you'll have to choose Edit Entity

In order to edit an entity, you'll require the id of the entiy, now incase you know it or its passed through from your trigger or action then you can skip this step. So you'll have to go to Entity form fields, choose a field that your sure has unique values like Student ID and then edit the field and attach the unique attribute to it.

Then in zapier choose the action to retrieve the entity id by the unique field.

Go on to authenticate by adding an account.

You will be presented with two fields, Search Value should be value from the unique form field that you defined above so lets say if you have Student Id as the unique field then you can pass values that are for Student ID. Then for Program Id you will be provided with a dropdown so that you are able to choose which program this search should be made. The program selected should have the form attached to it, this form having the unqiue field.

Then click Continue and run a test and you'll receive the response containing the entity object

Then you can use this data for the next action.

Edit Entity

Choose Edit Entity from the actions

Then authenticate your account and move on to the Action

You'll be presented with Entity Id which can be got from the data from the previous action and then Program Id got from the data from the previous action.

Click Refresh fields so that zapier can generate the form fields, then you can fill in the fields that you want to edit and then you click Continue

Test the request and then you can publish.
