Fundraising Milestones

Set fundraising checkpoints with target amounts or percentages and track progress against key dates.

Fundraising milestones allow you to set intermediate fundraising checkpoints throughout the trip planning period. Rather than waiting until the final deadline to assess whether your fundraising goal will be met, milestones help you track progress at regular intervals and identify potential shortfalls early.

Accessing Fundraising Milestones

Open the Trip Details page for your trip and click the Milestones tab.

Milestones Table

The Milestones tab displays a table with the following columns:

  • Name - The milestone label.

  • Due - The date by which the milestone should be reached.

  • Target - The target amount (in dollars) or target percentage of the overall fundraising goal.

  • Status - The current status of the milestone:

    • On track - Fundraising is progressing well toward the target.

    • Reached - The target has been met or exceeded.

    • Behind - The milestone's due date has passed without reaching the target.

  • Progress - The current percentage of the target that has been achieved.

  • Actions - Edit and delete buttons.

Adding a Milestone

You must provide at least one target value (either a dollar amount or a percentage).

Name (Required)

Enter a descriptive name for the milestone that indicates what it represents.

Examples: "50% by May 1", "First $10,000 raised", "75% before team meeting"

Due Date (Optional)

Set the date by which this milestone should be reached. The system uses this date to determine the milestone's status (on track, reached, or behind).

Target Amount or Target Percent

Set the fundraising target for this milestone using either a dollar amount or a percentage of the trip's overall fundraising goal.

  • Target Amount — A specific dollar value (e.g., $25,000).

  • Target Percent — A percentage of the overall trip fundraising goal (e.g., 50%). The system will calculate the equivalent dollar amount based on the trip's current fundraising goal.

Editing a Milestone

Click the Edit button on any milestone row to modify its name, due date, or targets.

Using Milestones Effectively

Milestones are most useful when you set them at regular intervals leading up to the trip. For example, for a trip with a $50,000 goal departing in June, you might set milestones such as:

  • "25% by March 1" (Target: $12,500)

  • "50% by April 1" (Target: $25,000)

  • "75% by May 1" (Target: $37,500)

  • "100% by June 1" (Target: $50,000)

This approach gives your team clear checkpoints and allows you to adjust your fundraising strategy if you fall behind at any stage.
