# Recipients (Service item)

A Gratona recipient corresponds to a QuickBooks Service Item. The field marked as the recipient title in the program form supplies the default item name.

## When Service Items sync

The program's **Sync Type** determines the direction:

* **Gratona → QBO** creates or updates a linked Service Item for an eligible recipient.
* **QBO → Gratona** creates or updates a recipient after Gratona receives and verifies a supported QuickBooks Item webhook.
* **Two way** enables both behaviors.

The **Service Item** tab maps program fields to QuickBooks Item fields and can place created items in a selected QuickBooks category. The **Accounting** tab supplies the program's Income or Other Income account and optional class. Campaign programs can also map individual recipients to their own classes.

## Matching safeguards

The stored QuickBooks Item identifier is the authoritative link. SKU is used only as a fallback for an unlinked item. Gratona does not guess when a match is ambiguous or when the saved category, income account, class, or item is invalid; the affected record is held for review.

## Deactivations and deletion

Delete mirroring is off by default. When the Gratona-to-QuickBooks delete setting is enabled, deleting a linked recipient makes its Service Item inactive. When the QuickBooks-to-Gratona delete setting is enabled, deactivating a linked Item can delete its Gratona recipient.
